What is an EICR

An EICR stands for Electrical Installation Condition Report. It is a formal inspection of the electrical wiring, circuits, and other electrical components of a building to ensure they are safe and comply with the relevant safety standards.

If you are a homeowner or landlord in the UK, you may need an EICR to comply with the law. The UK government has made it mandatory for landlords to have an EICR for all rental properties since 1st April 2021. Homeowners are not legally required to have an EICR, but it is recommended to have one done every 5 years or when there is a change in occupancy.
